Attitude Over Actions–Phillipians 2:12–18

Do everything without grumbling or arguing,
so that you may become blameless and pure...
Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky
as you hold firmly to the word of life.
Philippians 2:14–16

This morning, a hearty crew of manly men took Tim's sermon about humble, joyful service to heart.

They fixed Harold's biscuits and gravy for breakfast while the regular kitchen crew caught a few extra winks. The food was delicious!

Following the meal, Kaitlyn Beck read Philippians 2:12–18 and shared her thoughts about the passage during devotion time. She began by saying the verses were not easy ones for a future lawyer to read. After all, lawyers are trained to argue, but Paul urges believers to do everything without grumbling or arguing. So what's a Christian to do?

Those assembled pondered the question for a few minutes. Then Kaitlyn answered with these wise words. "Much of the time, our attitudes are more important than our actions. We need to concentrate less on what we do than how we do it."

Case in point: Future lawyers should do everything–even when their mothers ask them to clean their rooms–without grumbling or complaining.

Those words were music to the ears of the mother of one future lawyer indeed!

Final note:
Welcome to Nadya and her friend Doug who arrived at camp yesterday.
